LaVision, a leading supplier of laser-imaging systems, recently applied Digital Image Correlation (DIC) to the vibration analysis of a tuning fork using two Vision Research high-speed cameras. By utilizing a pair of Phantom v1612s, researchers were able to demonstrate how DIC consistency yields accurate results when performing vibration analysis of a structure. Additionally, through LaVision's advanced computer software, they were also able to extract additional measurements, identify the structure's resonant frequencies and generate animations based on the tuning fork's vibration patterns.
