  • Records directly to a 1TB or 2TB CineMag IV
  • Ultra-fast 10GB Ethernet for fast downloads
  • Convenient “Quiet fans” mode turns off fans for vibration-sensitive applications

The Phantom v1612 camera provides the versatility and flexibility needed in a variety of applications.  The v1612 offers the same unique features available in the Phantom® UHS-12 Series family of 1 megapixel digital ultra high-speed cameras, with over 30% more speed than the v1212. It is an excellent tool for researchers, scientists and engineers who need to capture high-resolution images at ultra-high speeds.

With our proprietary widescreen CMOS sensor, the v1612 can acquire and save up to 16 gigapixels-per-second of data. That means at its full megapixel resolution of 1280 x 800, you can achieve 16,000 frames-per-second (fps). At reduced resolutions, the v1612 offers frame rates of 646,000 fps. Further underscoring its versatility, the camera can be ordered with our unique FAST option (export controlled), which enables frame rates up to 1,000,000 fps.

The custom-designed sensor has 28 micron pixels and an innovative design to ensure superb light-sensitivity -- essential in ultra-high-speed imaging. Standard 12-bit depth per pixel yields high dynamic range and provides excellent image quality. The camera comes in color or monochrome.

The v1612 is equipped with either 72GB, 144GB or 288GB of high-speed memory that can be divided into up to 63 segments, giving users maximum flexibility. And, minimize cine save times with our Phantom CineMag IV, an option that saves any shot from high-speed RAM to a 1TB or 2TB CineMag in seconds.

The v1612 has the same Ease-of-Use features as all the other members of the Phantom High-Speed Camera line.  Common signal connections are conveniently located on its back panel, and include connections for timecode, dual power inputs, HD-SDI, a GPS input, frame synchronization, and trigger. The two HD-SDI ports can act as identical 4:2:2 HD-SDI ports with one port set up to provide an (optional) on-screen display for monitoring the on-camera controls and camera operation. They can also be configured as a single 4:4:4 Dual-Link HD-SDI port.

An internal mechanical shutter allows for automatic and remote black references, ensuring high image-quality even when you can't manually cover the lens prior to a shot. The camera has a Nikon F-mount that also supports G-mount lenses. C-mount and Canon EF mounts are also available.
