University of California-Irvine brings Phantom VEO 410L into Student Research Lab Group

The University of California-Irvine ( has made the decision to bring a Phantom VEO 410L into their research at the Muscle Physiology and Biomechanics Lab Group. Student and faculty will be studying the strike of venomous cone-snails. Their goal is to visualize the flow of the venom into the proboscis in order to describe and model the mechanics of a naturally occurring, hydraulically powered strike. Their ultimate goal with this research is to understand the mechanism that allows the cone-snails to perform the extremely rapid strikes.
